What Words Can I Make With These Letters?

Type your letters into the box above and every valid word appears instantly — no "search" button, no waiting, no internet connection needed after the page loads. The unscrambler checks your letters against all 172,823 words in the ENABLE dictionary and groups the answers by length, longest first, so the highest-scoring plays are always at the top.

You do not have to use every letter. A 7-letter rack normally produces 100 to 300 valid words, most of them 3, 4, and 5 letters long. Add a question mark for each blank tile and the tool substitutes all 26 letters in that position.

How to Unscramble Letters in 3 Steps

  1. Type or paste your scrambled letters into the box. Up to 15 letters, and use ? for a blank tile.
  2. Read the results from the top down. The longest word and the highest-scoring word are shown in the two summary cards.
  3. Scan the shorter length groups for a play that fits the board. Short words often score more than long ones when they land on a premium square.

Unscrambler vs Scrabble Word Finder

The unscrambler shows every word your letters can make, regardless of score or dictionary. The Scrabble Word Finder ranks the same words by point value and applies your chosen tournament dictionary (TWL, SOWPODS, or Words With Friends). Use the unscrambler to see your options, then the Scrabble finder to pick the best play.

Frequently Asked Questions

Enter any set of letters into the search box. The unscrambler finds every valid English word that can be made using some or all of the letters you entered. It searches the full 172,823-word ENABLE dictionary. Results are sorted by word length with the longest words first. Use the length filter to narrow results to exactly 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8+ letter words. You do not need to use all your letters — the tool returns sub-words too.
The word unscrambler is useful for Scrabble, Words With Friends, Jumble, Text Twist, and any word game where you need to find all valid words from a set of tiles. For Scrabble players, use it alongside the Scrabble Word Finder to see scores. For Jumble or Text Twist, enter the scrambled letters and the tool returns every valid arrangement. It is also useful for solving word puzzles in newspapers and puzzle books.
Yes. Enter a question mark (?) to represent a blank or wildcard tile. The unscrambler will fill the ? with every possible letter and include all resulting words in the output. Blank tiles dramatically increase the number of possible words. One blank in a 7-letter set can multiply results by 3 to 5 times. Two blanks can produce hundreds of additional results.
The unscrambler works on inputs up to 15 letters. It will find all valid words up to the full length of your input. The longest common English words in the ENABLE dictionary are 15 letters. The tool returns words of any length between 2 and the full length of your input. For inputs over 10 letters, results may take 1 to 2 extra seconds to process due to the number of combinations.
The ENABLE word list does not include proper nouns, abbreviations, or trademarked words. All results are common English words accepted in standard word games. Words unique to specific games (for example, SOWPODS-only Scrabble words) may not appear since we use the ENABLE base list for the unscrambler. Use the dedicated Scrabble Word Finder for tournament-specific word validation.
