Use these pages when you need to explore options for a specific letter position. They are especially useful for Scrabble rack planning, Wordle pattern guessing, and spelling practice.

How to Use the Browse Pages

The browse pages are organized into 4 categories. Each covers all 26 letters.

• Words Starting With [Letter] — Every word in the 172,823-word ENABLE list that begins with that letter. Results are grouped by word length from 2 letters to 8+ letters. Scrabble point values are shown next to each word.
• Words Ending With [Letter] — Every word in the ENABLE list that ends with that letter. Useful for Scrabble racks when you need to play off a specific board letter and for Wordle guesses when you know the final letter is grey or yellow.
• 5-Letter Words Starting With [Letter] — Every 5-letter word starting with each letter, filtered from the full list. Wordle answer words are highlighted.
• 5-Letter Words Ending With [Letter] — Every 5-letter word ending with each letter. Use this when your Wordle result shows green or yellow in the last position.

Letter Frequency Facts

Not all letters appear equally in English words. Here are the 5 most common starting letters by word count in the ENABLE list: S (most words), C, P, A, and U. The least common starting letters are X, Q, and Z.

For 5-letter Wordle words, the most common starting letters are S, C, B, and T. The rarest Wordle starters are X, Q, and Z — each appearing in fewer than 15 common 5-letter words.
