Word List Accuracy

Word Game Tools uses the ENABLE (Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon) word list as its primary dictionary. ENABLE is a public-domain word list containing approximately 172,823 English words.

The ENABLE list may differ from official word lists used by specific games. Specifically:

  • The TWL (Tournament Word List) used in North American Scrabble tournaments may exclude or include words not in ENABLE
  • The SOWPODS list used in international Scrabble may differ from ENABLE
  • The WWF word list used by Words With Friends may differ from ENABLE
  • The NYT Wordle answer list is a curated subset of common 5-letter words that differs from the ENABLE 5-letter word set

We do our best to keep word data accurate and up to date. However, we make no guarantee that any specific word is valid in any specific game or tournament. Always verify with your game's official word checker for tournament or competitive play.

No Puzzle Spoilers

Word Game Tools does not publish or host today's Wordle answer, today's Spelling Bee answers, today's Connections solutions, or solutions to any other current NYT puzzle. Our tools provide analysis assistance only. Results from our tools depend entirely on the inputs you enter.
